Disney Junior “Doc McStuffins: The Doc is In”
Doc McStuffins made her return to Disney Junior for a special half-hour episode aimed at teaching kids about healthy habits.
We partnered with Disney Junior to create “The Doc Is In,” featuring its titular character interacting with real kids, families, and medical professionals – a first in the show’s history – along with some of the most memorable songs and moments from the series.
We worked with Argentina-based Plenty to create the custom animation, which was voiced by Laya DeLeon Hayes, to bring this original storyline to life. Our team directed the real talent to seamlessly work together with Doc’s animation as she talked virtually with kids around the country, Dr. Myiesha Taylor, MD, founder of the “We Are Doc McStuffins” movement, and nurse Mark Lee, who provided tips to preschoolers about ways to prevent spreading germs.
“The Doc Is In” aired during National Handwashing Awareness Week in December and simultaneously streamed on YouTube and DisneyNOW.
“Doc McStuffins is a role model for taking good care of oneself and others,” said Joe D’Ambrosia, senior vp original programming and general manager at Disney Junior. “With this new special, we hope to empower our young viewers by highlighting simple actions they can take in order to stay safe and healthy, and also provide a resource for parents and caregivers to talk to their kids about healthy habits, which has become especially relevant during these challenging times.”
