20TH CENTURY FOX “Kung Fu Panda 3” + TLC
We spent a legendary day at Zoo Atlanta with TLC’s DC Cupcake Sisters to celebrate the release of Fox’s Kung Fu Panda 3.
This high-flying integration featured a giant batch of custom content running throughout the night on TLC. With a little help from our friends at a local martial arts studio and some amazingly photogenic zoo animals, we went on an ambitious journey through Zoo Atlanta to master the art of baking and have an adventure of our own – an adventure involving some real karate kids and a 5 foot tall panda made out of 100s of cupcakes!
When research for a campaign’s creative involves eating cupcakes, it’s easy to figure out why we kept going back to Georgetown Cupcake’s newest bakery in Buckhead. While we were there, we shot bonus timelapse footage of the epic cupcake display build inspired by the movie to tease throughout the vignettes and give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the Sisters’ talents.
We stayed nimble on our shoot day to be able to follow the Sisters on their tour across the entire zoo, capturing natural moments of excitement and bites to draw connections between the animals and KFP3 characters. We also built a mini panda village inspired by Po’s home in the movie, giving the custom content pieces an awesome backdrop for Sophie, Katherine, and our mini karate masters to do their cupcake decorating.
We were honored to integrate this beloved trilogy with two of TLC’s most beloved talent. We all learned some new moves on the way to earning honorary karate belts, in classic Cupcake Sisters pink no less!
