“Detour”
An Atlanta cabbie is forced to change his plans when he decides to drive an unlikely passenger.
Inspired by the Pixar film “Up,” Takashi wrote and directed Detour as a personal challenge: could he tell a story, under ten minutes in length, that actually caused a strong emotional reaction in an audience? Could the story show a realistic and believable character change in that short amount of time? The dialogue became a deep study into character. The structure became a challenge of economy. The result? A film that was selected as a Vimeo Staff Pick with an Atlanta Film Festival premiere.
