ESPN Films “A Fighting Chance”
Takashi created this inspiring film about a young man, born without arms or legs, who dreamed of becoming a mixed martial arts fighter.
Fresh out of college, Takashi began his two-year journey that would become the feature documentary, A Fighting Chance. Along with Co-director Alex Shofner, they produced, directed, shot and edited the inspiring film about a young man named Kyle Maynard, born without arms or legs, who dreamed of becoming a mixed martial arts fighter. In the fall of 2011, the film premiered on ESPN making Takashi the youngest director to sell a film to the international sports network.
Premiering as part of ESPN’s Veteran’s Day programming, the film went on to partner with the USO to help soldiers returning from battle with catastrophic wounds.
